The 2026 World Cup will open with three ceremonies across Mexico, the United States and Canada, featuring stars including Katy Perry and French artist Vegedream.

L'Équipe reports that each show will precede the host nation's first match. The expanded 48-team tournament begins on 11 June with Mexico facing South Africa at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

A ceremony will take place 90 minutes before kick-off, with performers slated to include Colombia's reggaeton star J Balvin, Hispano-Mexican singer Belinda and Mexican performer Alejandro Fernandez.

Canada will stage its own ceremony on 12 June in Toronto before meeting Bosnia and Herzegovina. The United States will do likewise later that day in Los Angeles before opening against Paraguay.

Vegedream is scheduled in Toronto alongside Nora Fatehi and Michael Bublé. Katy Perry, rapper Future and Brazilian singer Anitta are set to perform in Los Angeles.
