Leeds United are scanning rivals for players entering the final year of their deals, eyeing potential bargains this summer. Leeds Live notes the focus could be a goalkeeper, a striker and a number 10, plus a back-up left-back.

At the 12-month point, clubs either renew, sell or risk a free. Sales often suit smaller sides, but exits still depend on the player, and Premier League wages make Leeds an appealing option.

Several talents are out of contract in 2027. Werder Bremen’s Romano Schmid and Southampton’s Shea Charles fall into that bracket, though both are midfielders and perhaps not immediate priorities.

Gustavo Hamer has featured on Leeds’ radar. He recorded five goals and 13 assists in 37 league games for a struggling Sheffield United, can play centrally or wide, and at 28 and 5ft 7in would still be a gamble.

Konstantinos Tzolakis is Olympiacos’ first-choice keeper, a Europa Conference League winner with nine Greece caps, plus four titles and three cups. He may attract clubs in Europe, but Leeds could offer a number one role.

Aged 23, he already has 131 senior top-flight outings, including nine in the Champions League, which makes him a strong candidate despite likely competition.

Niccolo Fortini, 20, profiles as back-up to Gabriel Gudmundsson at left-back. A wing-back on either flank, he is right-footed, over 6ft, and did not play in the league after January due to injury and selection. He may be more prototype than pick.
