Finally, following seven long years, Al Nassr can claim to be champions of Saudi Arabia after the Riyadh club clinched the 2025-26 Roshn Saudi League title on Thursday night.
Jorge Jesus’ side, who needed a closing-day victory to seal the championship, defeated Damac 4-1 at a packed Al Awwal Park in their final match of the season, where a Cristiano Ronaldo double together with goals from Sadio Mane and Kingsley Coman hauled the hosts over the line.
Last champions in 2018-2019, Al Nassr ended the campaign two points ahead of capital rivals Al Hilal. Afterwards, Jesus, who picked up a second RSL title having guided Al Hilal to the crown two seasons before, announced he was leaving Al Nassr.
However, Thursday night was a time for celebration. Here’s what some of the joyous protagonists said as 26,000-plus jubilant Al Nassr fans serenaded their heroes on the pitch.
"It's a victory for everyone. It was a difficult project when I accepted this challenge. I knew it would be difficult because on the other hand, there was a team that, in the case of Al Hilal, which I practically helped to build a great team and to win this championship against Al Nassr. So we would have to be much better.
"It's a victory for everyone. The players deserve it. This club is growing. What we did with Al Nassr had an impact, not only in Saudi Arabia, but outside of Saudi Arabia.
“And we did it because we made a very united group. This is a victory for everyone, and especially for Cristiano, because he had not yet won any title in Saudi Arabia.
"I only accepted this challenge because I told him that I would help him to be champion: 'let's win the title and then I'll leave', which is the case. For me it's over. It's the last game I'll play with Al Nassr."
"It was a tough season... but with all the effort that we put on the pitch day-by-day as a team, we did a fantastic job and that's to be remembered forever.
"This is a fantastic moment. We're all happy. The Saudi players are happy. The fans are happy; they deserve it. The last title was seven years ago, no? So yeah, they deserve a lot. They were with us all the time and thank you to them.
"Playing football makes me happy; playing my position. The coach gave me so much confidence. He put me to play to command the team, to help the team, be one of the focuses of the team. And I think when that happens, the things goes well."
"Was a top, top, top season, and the same time was incredible. It was not easy from the beginning because the league now is getting very, very strong, but we keep believing until the end. We knew it would not be easy, but at the end of the day we deserve to win because we had more points than the opponents.
"It's one of [my family’s] dreams. We are here now three years and finally we got something big. That's what we expected from the beginning and we are really happy about it.
"One of the most important [titles] for me. Of course, I've won many titles, but this one is special, with all the stars we have in our team and, like I said, we’ve been here now three years and lot of things been said. We know that... but we didn't give up and we push until the right moment and we won something.”
"I know our quality. When I come here, I have one feeling: that we'll be champion. I was sure about that. Not the first season, second season we're champion. Nobody can say we don't deserve it.
"This year, we show everything. We show how strong the Al Nassr team is, and our fans also. And for everyone who support Al Nassr, we do a big season and we're very happy, and thank you very much.
"Because we play with the hearts. We are a really great team. Everyone was focused; this year especially... we didn't want to have one excuse or something like that. We wanted to only play football. On the pitch, we make everything and, today, this is what we deserved."
"I’m really happy, really proud. We’ve done a great job. We gave it our all, the fans are happy, everyone’s happy - it’s brilliant.
"It’s been a good season for the team; I’ve helped them a lot. I feel a lot of love from the fans [and] I try to give something back by giving my all on the pitch.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is special. Everyone knows that. It’s great that we helped him win the title; a title he really wanted. We won it all together. I know he’ll sleep very, very well tonight. It’s always a source of pride to play alongside legends."
"I'm very happy, especially because of the title. We battled a lot during this season. We had the chance to beat Al Hilal [and seal the trophy], but unfortunately it didn't happen. A lot of people thought we lost the title in that game, but they didn't even pay attention to the league.
"We just depended on each other. And thank God, a great game today, a victory to be champion. To crown this great job we did.
"I helped a lot. After I came back to play in the team, it was very important. I'm very happy. I'm very happy for everything I built. [The family support] is important all year long, all season long.
"And there are moments when it's just the energy of the family. Not to rise again, but to give that extra something that we need. I just want to thank everyone for the positive energy they always give."
And, having collected an eighth Man of the Match award this season following his 27th and 28th RSL goals of 2025-26, perhaps the final word on the night should go to Ronaldo:
