Tom Edozie was Wolves’ unlikely midweek hero, his late strike salvaging a draw against league leaders Arsenal at Molineux.

The 19-year-old came on in the 84th minute and fired the equaliser 10 minutes later. According to ExpressAndStar.com, he had been in recent squads before Rob Edwards turned to him late in the second half. After the match he said he initially thought the call to get ready was a mistake.

Edozie joined Wolves in September 2022 on a free from a grassroots London team. He spent two years in the system, then signed his first professional contract in August 2024.

Academy manager Jon Hunter-Barrett said coaches were excited by Edozie’s technique and attitude, and stressed he must add end product through goals, assists and key involvements. He also highlighted his work in tight areas and a change of pace that helps him create for himself and team-mates.

Away from Wolves, Edozie can look to older brother Samuel. The 23-year-old winger came through Millwall and Manchester City, has made over 50 appearances for Southampton, and has had spells away from Southampton with Anderlecht.
