Torino are close to signing Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the 28-year-old Brazilian shot-stopper is set to join I Granata after just one season in England.

Perri’s potential exit follows the departures of fellow Leeds keepers Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier this summer. Initially, this meant a move for the 6 ft 6 former Botafogo and Lyon man proved difficult as the Whites searched for a replacement between the sticks.

However, with that now coming in the form of James Trafford from Manchester City, the transfer looks to have been given the green light.

In the last few hours, the West Yorkshire club’s confidence in completing the deal for Trafford has reportedly increased, despite interest from both Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

Perri’s mixed Premier League stint saw him make 16 appearances as Leeds finished 14th. However, it was in the FA Cup that he starred, helping Leeds to the semi-final stage.

Now, he looks to move on to an Italian challenge in a week where Ignazio Abate’s side hope to sign Valencia’s Eray Comert.

With Perri in the ranks, Il Toro adds to their senior goalkeeping union of Franco Israel and Alberto Paleari. Torino fans will be hopeful that with Abate’s first season at the helm, transfers like these can help Torino to a better finish than 2025-26’s 12th place.
