Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati isn’t yet certain that Alessandro Buongiorno will complete a move to Napoli, while confirming Inter Milan among the player’s suitors.

The Granata have reportedly found an agreement with Napoli over the 25-year-old defender worth 35 million euros.

However, the player’s agent Bepe Riso dropped a pipe bomb yesterday following his meeting with Inter directors.

Riso revealed that the Italian champions have inquired about his client.

The Nerazzurri are apparently searching the market for a new defender following Tajon Buhanan’s injury. Carlos Augusto will return to his original role on the wing, leaving a gap in the backline.

But even though Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio quashed all Buongiorno rumors earlier in the evening, Vagnati, who was present at the same event, continues to fuel the story.

The Torino official reveals that Inter are among the player’s admirers.

“For Buongiorno, these are delicate moments,” notes Vagnati while chatting with reporters via FcInterNews.

“We’re talking about a lad who grew up with us, an exceptional person and a great player. We are evaluating carefully with him what would be the best option.

“Are Inter tracking him? We need to ask Piero Ausilio,” laughs the Torino director.

“Many teams called us, Ausilio was certainly interested as well as other clubs and still are. In football, anything can happen

“For Alessandro, we are in the evaluation phase, it is very important for us because beyond the economic aspect, he is part of Torino’s history.”

Vagnati also insists that Napoli haven’t yet closed the deal for Buongiorno, which could leave an opening for others.

“Why did Alessandro choose Napoli? I have a hard time answering this question.

“Whether he truly chose them or not, until the deal is complete, you can’t know for sure. Eventually, you’ll have to ask him.”
