Tottenham Hotspur winger Mohammed Kudus has suffered a setback and now looks set to miss next month’s relegation six-pointer against Leeds United.

Kudus sustained a quadriceps injury in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland on January 4 and has not featured since. According to BBC Sport, he is unlikely to play again this season.

Without him, Tottenham have not won a Premier League match and sit one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining.

He assisted and scored in October’s 2-1 win at Elland Road, but Leeds are unlikely to face him in the return at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He had returned to team training last week, but now needs specialist review and possibly surgery, with further updates to follow.

Kudus had been pencilled in for a post-March return. Despite the lay-off, he leads Tottenham with five league assists and has scored twice.

Leeds visit on May 11 for the third-to-last fixture, with both sides mired in a relegation battle.

Leeds are also without Anton Stach and Joe Rodon after ankle ligament injuries at West Ham, and the pair are expected to miss April, although Daniel Farke is hopeful of speeding up recovery.

Barring setbacks, Stach and Rodon aim to be available in mid-May. Before then, the Whites host Burnley and Wolves as they push for safety.
