Tottenham Hotspur’s growing injury list could be set to lengthen after Wilson Odobert was forced off in the second half of their goalless Champions League draw with Monaco. The French winger impressed with his direct play before receiving treatment for what appeared to be a rib problem.
Odobert’s display had been one of the brighter aspects of a subdued Spurs performance. The 20-year-old, who has started the last four matches across all competitions, has quickly become Thomas Frank’s preferred option on the left flank. His injury, however, leaves Spurs facing another unwanted question ahead of their meeting with Everton.

Frank admitted after the match that details were unclear. “Actually, I don’t know. But of course we subbed him off because there was some pain. But I don’t know the consequences of it,” the Tottenham head coach said. The uncertainty adds to an already challenging period for a side depleted by absences in every department.

Spurs travelled to Monaco missing ten first-team players, including Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies, all of whom suffered issues during the international break. Frank’s options were stretched to such an extent that youngster Archie Gray was deployed at left-back.
Despite the makeshift lineup, Tottenham escaped with a point thanks to goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who produced eight saves in an outstanding performance. Without him, the evening could have been far worse.

While Odobert has yet to record a goal or assist this season, his pace and willingness to drive forward have offered balance to Tottenham’s attack. Any spell on the sidelines would represent a significant setback for both the player and Frank, who has sought consistency in a squad frequently disrupted by injuries.
Tottenham’s medical team will assess Odobert in the coming days, hoping his withdrawal proves precautionary. For a club already stretched, his fitness could be crucial to maintaining momentum during a critical run of fixtures.
