In a recent report, journalist Fraser Fletcher revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Manchester City keeper James Trafford. It has been claimed that Spurs are set to launch a move for the English custodian in this summer transfer period.
The 23-year-old often found himself behind Gianluigi Donnarumma in Man City’s pecking order last season. Trafford participated in 17 matches for the Mancunian outfit in the previous campaign, conceding 13 goals and securing eight clean sheets in the process across various competitions.
The English talent is currently among the most talented keepers in the Premier League. Therefore, it is no surprise that Spurs are eager to get a deal over the line for him later this year.
His current deal at the Etihad Stadium will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Tottenham to land him on a cut-price deal this summer.

Trafford can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the field. He is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some crucial saves at the back for his side.
Standing at 1.92m, the English sensation can use his strong frame to dominate his penalty area when defending set-pieces and doesn’t hesitate to come out of his lines to clear the danger when required. He has already got some experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham if they can devise a way to bring him on board before the end of this transfer period.
We can expect Trafford to bring quality to Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi’s backline. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
At 23, Trafford has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a good fit for De Zerbi’s needs in this transfer window. He is capable of helping the London giants get back to challenging for a European spot in the Premier League over the next few years.
