Tottenham Hotspur sign Swedish winger Nildén | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Swedish youth international winger Matilda Nildén on a long-term deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Lilywhites this afternoon.

The 21-year-old joins Spurs from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club BK Håcken where she has spent the last two years.

Nildén started out at IF Brommapojkarna before joining AIK Fotboll in 2021. The youngster impressed whilst out on loan at Swedish second tier side Bollstanas SK before being snapped up by BK Håcken. Nildén was an OBOS Damallsvenskan title-winner with The Wasps last season.

After joining Spurs, Nildén said “I’m so excited and really happy to be here. I think this is the right step for me because the club wants to develop players and I feel they have a clear plan for me.

“I’m young and this feels like the next step in my career. I’ve spoken to Martin [Ho] and Andy [Rogers] – and I really liked our conversations. They like the way I play and that gave me a good feeling. I’ve watched the English league for many years, and it has always been a dream to play here. To now be at Spurs is really special.”

Nildén is Spurs’ third January transfer window addition.
