Trabzonspor ‘open talks’ over free move for Bertrand Traoré after Sunderland exit | OneFootball

Africafoot reports that Trabzonspor have opened talks with Bertrand Traoré’s representatives over a possible move following his summer release from Sunderland.

The report says discussions concern a potential free transfer for the 30-year-old Burkina Faso international.

Traoré joined Sunderland in September last year for around £2.5million, signing a one-year deal with an option of a further year. The former Chelsea, Lyon, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Ajax attacker arrived with significant top-level experience.

He made 12 Premier League appearances in 2025-26, scoring once, and was released at the end of the season. Injuries hampered his involvement and he struggled to secure a regular starting place.

Trabzonspor are said to be looking closely at his situation as they assess attacking options before the new season. His availability, plus experience across England, France, Spain and the Netherlands and more than 90 Burkina Faso caps, could appeal.
