And after such an intense fixture yesterday afternoon, the squad were back at the City Football Academy on Sunday morning, taking part in a vital recovery session as our attention now turns to Sunderland

We travel to the Black Cats on Thursday 1 January, with kick-off set for 20:00 (UK), as City look to make it nine successive wins in all competitions as the festive period draws to a close.

With that in mind, Guardiola and his team began preparations for Thursday’s trip to the North East with a mixture of important gym work before heading out onto the grass for a training session on the pitches.
