FC Bayern have recently been linked with the signing of Eintracht star Hugo Larsson, but it has now been revealed that the Munich club are facing a transfer duel with Borussia Dortmund
Hugo Larsson is one of the most exciting midfielders in the Bundesliga and that is not without consequences. In addition to FC Bayern, Borussia Dortmund are apparently also interested in the Swedish international from Eintracht Frankfurt. But while Munich would have the financial means, one factor in particular clearly speaks against a BVB move: the transfer fee
As transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio revealed, Dortmund are also interested in the 21-year-old in principle. At the same time, however, he made it clear that Eintracht Frankfurt want to keep the player and only sell him in the summer at the „best possible price“. A winter transfer is therefore practically out of the question

It is precisely this price that is becoming the key problem for BVB. According to information from the player’s entourage, Eintracht Frankfurt are said to be asking for a transfer fee of between €50 and €55 million – a sum that is hardly feasible even for Dortmund’s ambitious plans. Historically, BVB have never paid more than €35 million for a player – a mark that has never been exceeded even in exceptional cases
The situation is different for FC Bayern, whose interest was recently confirmed by David Ornstein of The Athletic. For the record champions, Larsson would be a long-term investment in central midfield – both in sporting and strategic terms. Although his contract, which runs until 2029, puts Frankfurt in a strong negotiating position, Bayern would be one of the few clubs in Germany that could realistically afford such a sum
However, it is clear that a transfer of this magnitude is not a foregone conclusion for FCB either. Munich must be absolutely convinced by the player to invest such a sum.
