There's just over a week left of the winter window and the rumours are unrelenting. Here is the best of Saturday's speculation.
Manchester United and Manchester City have been embroiled in some memorable transfer tugs-of-war, with the former getting the flag over the line to land Dimitar Berbatov, Robin van Persie, Alexis Sanchez, and Harry Maguire, with mixed results. However, the Red Devils' rope is loosening this time when it comes to Elliot Anderson.
According toThe I, United are ready to concede to the Citizens in the race for the Nottingham Forest midfielder, with Brighton's Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace starlet Adam Wharton considered 'more realistic' targets.
Over in Spain,El Nacional have claimed that Trent Alexander-Arnold's miserable Madrid move might be over sooner than expected. New head coach Alvaro Arbeloa has reportedly told Trent he's not a part of the long-term plans at the Bernabeu, amid an injury-hit La Liga campaign.
Given the lack of clarity around Arbeloa's own position, and the long wait to sign him, we're sceptical about this one...
Another player who could be leaving Spain isJulian Alvarez. Arsenal will battle Barcelona for the Argentine ace, who's been rather brilliant since escaping Erling Haaland's shadow at Manchester City. Alvarez has hit 40 goals on 85 games for Atletico Madrid, but is reportedly considering his future, say ESPN.
The search for a Salah successor atLiverpool is underway. RB Leipzig's latest wunderkind is on the club's shortlist, with BILD boldly claiming that the Reds are ready to rival Bayern Munich for Yan Diomande. The teenager could follow Ibrahima Konate, Dominik Szoboszlai and, er, Naby Keita in taking the well-trodden path from Leipzig to Liverpool.
Elsewhere,Everton want to sign a striker, but look set to miss out on Youssef En-Nesyri. The Moroccan is finalising a move to Juventus in a blow to the Blues.
Everton's pursuit of a goalscorer is complicated by a need to offload Beto before a deal can be done. Fortunately, interest is emerging. Roma, Napoli and Torino have shown interest, while Fenerbahce view the 27-year-old as a potential replacement for the Juventus
