New talks between Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea have taken place over deals for Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino according to Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger.
Chukwuemeka is one of a number of players Chelsea are looking to move on before the end of the transfer window.
The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Dortmund, and has made it clear he wants to return to the Bundesliga outfit this summer.
Dortmund had a loan offer with an obligation to buy dismissed, and Chelsea described the bid for Chukwuemeka as “insulting.”
The midfielder scored one goal in 17 appearances for Dortmund during his loan spell last season, whilst boss Niko Kovac has admitted he’s a fan of Chuwkuemeka.

Chelsea have made it very clear they are only accepting permanent deals for Chukwuemeka, and Berger has now provided an update.
He took to X.com and said:
“New talks between Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea for Carney Chukwuemeka AND Aaron Anselmino took place.
“Things are progressing. #BVB bosses Kehl and Ricken traveled to the UK for negotiations, now back in Germany for today’s match. – Package: around €25m with sell-on % for #CFC – Chukwuemeka permanent.
“Anselmino on straight loan (NO buy option) Charlie Cresswell from Toulon also on BVB list as backup if Anselmino deal collapses.”
A loan to Dortmund would be brilliant for Anselmino given he needs games to develop and he simply won’t get that at Chelsea this season.
The Bundesliga is a great league to gain experience in, and Dortmund have a reputation for developing and giving opportunities to young players.

Anselmino would also have the opportunity to play Champions League football, and he’s already believed to have said yes to the loan move.
The 20-year-old made his debut in the Club World Cup, but only played for two minutes in the whole competition, and it could be a while until Chelsea fans see him in action for the club.
