According to Globo.com, Treze have signed midfielder Giovane Mário, 28, to bolster their Série D campaign.

He will compete for minutes with Jean Carlo, the squad’s only playmaker. Treze face São José-RS on Sunday 26, needing a win by two goals to reach the quarter-finals.

Born in Limeira, São Paulo, Giovane has played for Vitória, Foz do Iguaçu, América-PE, Taubaté, Ipatinga, EC São Bernardo, São Joseense and Uberaba-MG.

At Uberaba, his most recent club, he made eight appearances without a goal or an assist.

Under head coach Adriano Souza, Jean Carlo has featured in 18 matches this season, scoring four and providing two assists.

Giovane is expected to be registered in the coming days.
