Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to the stands of San Siro for the Champions League opener against Liverpool, but he risks seeing a stadium that is not full when he walks out to his seat.

According to Tuttosport (via Radio Rossonera), there are currently 19,000 unsold tickets for the match between Milan and Liverpool on Tuesday night, and there are a couple of major factors which have influenced the slow sales.

First of all there is a lack of enthusiasm for the season, which stems from choice to hire Paulo Fonseca as coach and was added to by the poor results in the first three games of the campaign, contributing an overall downbeat and also angry atmosphere.

In recent years, San Siro has always been sold out or almost for Milan matches and it will be tomorrow night for the match against Venezia, where over 70,000 people are expected. However, the prices for the game against the Premier League giants are much higher.

This data should make the club reflect, given that in recent seasons it has never been a problem to fill the stadium, especially for top Champions League matches such as the one against Mo Salah and his team-mates.

The high price of tickets combined with the lack of enthusiasm aggravated by the poor start in Serie A have contributed to the choice, for the moment, of many fans to perhaps stay at home and watch on television. A convincing win tomorrow would surely help.
