Two Barcelona stars to be declared fit for Girona clash | OneFootball

Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona are expected to be passed fit for the club’s upcoming meeting with Girona.

That’s according to Esport3, who point towards Dani Olmo and Ansu Fati as the pair in question.

In the case of the former, midfielder Olmo set alarm bells ringing late last week, in being forced into a premature departure from international duty with the Spanish squad.

The summer arrival in Catalunya’s capital, in turn, saw his status for Barcelona’s post-international break return to action against Girona thrown up in the air.

As per a report from the reliable Esport3, though:

‘The blow that the midfielder received on Thursday while playing against Serbia is only a scare. In this way, the ex-Leipzig player will be able to help his team on Sunday in Montilivi, in the first Catalan derby of the 24-25 season.’

And joining Olmo back in contention to feature against Girona, it is understood, is Ansu Fati.

Wide-man Ansu is yet to take to the pitch this season, owing to a foot injury suffered during a pre-season training session.

After the 21-year-old was spotted back in group training on Monday, though, Hansi Flick and his coaching staff are hopeful that Ansu will be given the green light to take his place on the bench at Montilivi on Sunday evening.
