Lazio youngster Reda Belahyane could be set for a return to France through the gates of either Olympique Marseille or Stade Rennais.
The 21-year-old is a youth product of OGC Nice who has been developing his game in Italy since joining Hellas Verona in January 2024. A year later, he was reunited with Marco Baroni at Lazio, with the manager identifying him as the right profile to offer some cover for Nicolo Rovella in the deep-lying playmaker role.
Following Danilo Cataldi’s return to the club, Belahyane has found little space in Maurizio Sarri’s team, even with Rovella out with an injury. He has only made four appearances this season, none as a starter. Therefore, the young Moroccan has been pinpointed as one of the players considered surplus to requirements ahead of the January transfer session.

According to Foot 11, the youngster has two suitors who are willing to offer him the opportunity to resume his career in Ligue 1.
The first is Marseille, where he has an ally in the shape of his compatriot Mehdi Benatia, who acts as the club’s sporting director. OM are hoping to compete on the domestic front with Paris Saint-Germain this season, and also need additional depth if they wish to advance in the Champions League.
The second club is Rennes, who are looking to improve on their current eighth place in the standings, and try to book their place in Europe after missing out last season. Belahyane’s contract with Lazio is valid until the summer of 2029, and his value is estimated at around €10 million.
