Two Liverpool stars are back in training as the Reds prepare to take on Burnley in the Premier League. Arne Slot has some decisions to make.

Liverpool are back in Premier League action on Sunday as they take on Burnley at Turf Moor. The Reds are the sole team with a 100 per cent record - even if it’s been anything but routine.

In fact, all three fixtures have been tough. It took a last-gasp double to see off Bournemouth at Anfield before a trip to Newcastle saw all kinds of drama.

Thankfully, Rio Ngumoha stepped up with a 99th-minute winner. Then Arsenal went to Liverpool and did all they could to get a point - Dominik Szoboszlai’s sensational free-kick ruined that plan, however.

And so Liverpool travel to Burnley hoping to keep that brilliant record intact. Though, they’ll hope to finally get a more routine win under their belts, too.

However, there’s another concern - the amount of football. The season kicked off with a game per week, essentially, but now they’ll come thick and fast.

Liverpool have Burnley on Sunday, then host Atlético Madrid on Wednesday. After that it’s the derby and then Southampton at home in the Carabao Cup.

Good thing, then, that Arne Slot has two players back to boost the squad numbers.

Liverpool welcome players back

Both Jeremie Frimpong and Stefan Bajcetic returned to training this week. Frimpong, of course, started the season as the first-choice right-back.

But a hamstring injury in the opener against Bournemouth has forced him out since. Liverpool did say that he’d be back post-international break and it appears all has gone to plan.

Frimpong is training and hopefully ready to face Burnley. It seems he’d be ready to face Atlético at the very least, if Slot wanted to be extra cautious.
