Manchester United have conceded two early, quickfire goals at the Gtech Community Stadium.
It’s looking all too reminiscent of the Red Devils’ calamitous 4-0 thrashing in West London early on in the 2022/2023 campaign.
Thankfully for Ruben Amorim, Benjamin Sesko has intervened to ensure United have at least one goal to their name. He has bagged his maiden contribution for the club in the 26th minute to halve the deficit against a rampant Brentford, who had their tails up after leading 2-0 inside 20 minutes.
The pressure is now absolutely heaped on United to take something from the game, especially given they have plenty of time to do so.

In the chaos that followed Igor Thiago’s second of the afternoon, Samuel Luckhurst revealed that Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot had been spotted ‘arguing’, which isn’t surprising in the slightest, considering the backline were all over the place in the build-up.
“You overestimate this United side at your peril,” said the journalist. “Going the way of the 4-0 in 2022 at this rate. Weak all over the pitch. Fernandes and Dalot arguing.”
Andy Mitten also took to X/Twitter to label the visitors’ showing as ‘shocking’ thus far, citing ‘long balls’ over the top as one of the primary reasons Amorim’s men have been unable to find their feet.
Things are looking more stable in the final 10 minutes of the first half; United have enjoyed plenty of the ball and started to properly test Caoimhin Kelleher and the Bees’ defence.
Today’s encounter does give Amorim the opportunity to secure back-to-back league wins for the first time since he took the reins last November.
