Five Moroccan talents impress Regragui after the U20 World Cup!

During the recent U20 World Cup in Chile, several young Moroccan talents stood out by leading their team to a historic title, the first ever for the “Atlas Lions U20”. Their performances caught the attention of football observers and experts alike.

According to reliable sources, five players from the Moroccan U20 squad particularly impressed Walid Regragui, head coach of the senior national team, thanks to their outstanding displays throughout the tournament, during which Morocco knocked out giants like Argentina, Brazil, Spain, and France.

In an interview with Kooora, Regragui revealed that he is closely monitoring these young players. He noted that the final against Argentina convinced him that some of them deserve a spot in the next senior team training camp.

The five players in question are: Othmane Maamma, Yasser Zabiri, Ismaël Baouf, Naïm Byar, and Yassine Khalifi.

Regragui added that these youngsters represent an investment in the future of the national team, and that their gradual integration into the senior squad will be part of the technical staff’s upcoming plans.

It should be noted that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
