Bayern Munich asserted their dominance with a commanding 5-1 victory over Pafos on Matchday 2 of the Champions League. While the Bavarians’ collective efficiency was on full display, one man in particular caught the eye: Nicolas Jackson.

The Senegalese striker opened his Champions League account in his new colors and also provided an assist. After the match, the Chelsea loanee didn’t hide his delight:

It wasn’t easy, but we played very well and worked hard. I’m very happy to have scored my first goal with the club.

Admitting he’s not quite at peak fitness yet, Jackson also spoke about his efforts to get back to top form after a long layoff:

I’m not fully recovered yet, because I haven’t played or trained for two months. I’m working hard every day.

With this first European goal under his belt, Nicolas Jackson is determined to cement his place in Bayern’s attacking ranks and confirm his status as a top Senegalese striker.
