Manchester United will lock horns with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium on Sunday as they look to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Red Devils managed to earn a hard-fought 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest recently, which should keep them in good spirits going into this game.

Michael Carrick will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first team for this clash. Manuel Ugarte is a slight concern ahead of this game, but could get the nod to start, while Casemiro makes way for him and drops to the bench.

Defence

Senne Lammens will operate in between the sticks for the Red Devils after conceding two goals in his last appearance. Harry Maguire will play alongside Lisandro Martinez at the centre of Carrick’s defence as they look to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.

Diogo Dalot will try to impress as the right-back, while Luke Shaw hopes to produce a solid performance on the other flank as the left-back. Carrick will allow both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Ayden Heaven and Noussair Mazraoui will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte will play as the holding midfielders for the Red Devils as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park.

The talented trio of Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo will operate just ahead of them as part of the Man United attack. All three of them need to retain possession well in the final third if they are to create enough chances for the Red Devils to win this game.

Patrick Dorgu and Casemiro will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.

Attack

Bryan Mbeumo will lead the line for the Mancunian giants up top. He has to find a way to be a real menace on the offensive end of the pitch.

Benjamin Sesko is unlikely to recover in time for this game. However, Joshua Zirkzee will be available for selection on the bench.
