UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has condemned Gianni Infantino’s reported plan to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors, including the Trump family.
Posting on his social channels, he said football belongs to the people who fill the stands and stand on the touchline week after week.

The proposal has been presented as a way to generate additional revenue for national member federations.
Burnham maintained that the World Cup is not a product, that it is the biggest sporting competition in the world, and that nobody has ever had the right to sell it.
That justification did not persuade the Prime Minister.
