Unai Núñez on schedule as Valencia eye Mallorca trip

Unai Núñez is progressing as planned and could return for Valencia on Tuesday.

Valencia resumed work at the Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna ahead of the Son Moix visit. According to AS, LaLiga pauses this weekend because of the Copa del Rey final between Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad.

Núñez missed the Elche match with a hamstring contracture, working apart for 10 days, and joined the group at the start of today’s session. He could be the headline inclusion if his recovery continues.

Hugo Duro also began the session with his team-mates, though travelling remains difficult. The Swiss centre-back Eray Cömert has been ruled out.

Núñez has three more sessions to reach full fitness and make the trip. With only César Tárrega available at centre-back, Carlos Corberán has dropped Pepelu deeper to cover for Núñez and Cömert.
