Unseen hero's saves steady Volendam against Feyenoord

Kayne van Oevelen produced a pivotal save in the 80th minute to preserve a point as Volendam and Feyenoord finished 0-0.

On the stroke of half-time he smothered Jordan Bos's close-range effort (45.).

After the restart he pushed away Jakub Moder's low drive (66.). His biggest moment followed when he reacted to tip Tsuyoshi Watanabe's point-blank header wide (80.). He then got down smartly in the second minute of second half stoppage time to deny Ayase Ueda's header.

The goalkeeper finished with four saves, all inside the box, plus one high claim and 16 recoveries, underlining his authority under pressure.

With Feyenoord registering 17 attempts and five corners, van Oevelen's positioning and handling gave the hosts a platform whenever the visitors built momentum.
