Bayern Munich and Vincent Kompany received a boost today after several previously injured players returned to training.

Dayot Upamecano has recovered from his viral infection and completed his first full training session with the team on Monday afternoon.

After missing two competitive matches, the 27-year-old returned to the pitch without any restrictions and participated fully in all drills.

The centre-half could even be available in time for the match against PSV Eindhoven – especially with Kim Min-Jae suspended.

Meanwhile, Sacha Boey is also back on the pitch, participating in a training session under Kompany for the first time since 3 January.

The Frenchman was battling a gastrointestinal infection for weeks and lost a considerable amount of weight due to the illness.

It is still considered very unlikely that Boey will be an option against Eindhoven – the focus will likely be on a careful, gradual recovery.

Finally, the third positive sign concerns Josip Stanisic who completed his first individual training session on the pitch this morning.

Two weeks after suffering a ligament injury in his right ankle, the full-back worked with rehabilitation coach Benjamin Sommer.

Sprints at varying speeds and passing drills were the main focus. His comeback is still planned for early to mid-February.
