According to Coluna Do Fla, CONMEBOL has appointed Uruguayan referee José Javier Burgos, 39, to oversee Flamengo v Cusco on Tuesday, the final round of the Copa Libertadores group stage.
It will be the first time Burgos has taken charge of a Flamengo match. He is working in the Libertadores for the first time in 2026, and has handled four games so far.
Two Brazilian clubs have already featured in his fixtures this season, Deportivo La Guaira 0-0 Fluminense and Always Ready 1-2 Mirassol.
Although he has not refereed Flamengo before, Burgos was fourth official for the second leg of the Recopa Sudamericana, when Lanús won the trophy at the Maracanã after extra time.
He will be assisted by fellow Uruguayans Pablo Llarena and Hector Bergalo, with Mathias de Armas as fourth official. The VAR team comprises Cristhian Ferreyra and Richard Trindad.
Already through to the round of 16, Flamengo aim to preserve their unbeaten record when they face Cusco at 21:30 Brasília time at the Maracanã.
