Valencia are concerned over Diego López after he came off early in the second half with knee pain against Barcelona. According to Superdeporte, the initial post-match feeling was negative and there could be a serious injury to the joint.

He left the pitch after a challenge, having been one of Valencia’s standout players.

Afterwards he departed Camp de Mestalla with a bulky knee bandage, in clear discomfort and with a serious expression.

At first glance there could be ligament involvement, although further medical tests are needed to clarify the extent and avoid speculation.

Asked in his press conference, Corberán was cautious and not optimistic. He said they did not know the extent, that it was a knee issue rather than a typical muscle problem, and he hoped it would be as minor as possible while uncertainty persists. He added there was deep empathy in the dressing room after seeing a team-mate face an uncomfortable situation.

Diego López ends the season with 39 appearances, five goals and two assists.
