Valencia confirm free transfer as Alexander Figueiredo Gurendal joins IK Start | OneFootball

Valencia said in a statement that Alexander Figueiredo Gurendal, 20, has joined Norway's IK Start on a free transfer, taking the winger back to his homeland. He arrived in the Paterna academy in 2021.

The Mestalla club retain around 25% of any future sale, along with training rights. IK Start compete in the Eliteserien, Norway's top flight.

Gurendal featured in first-team friendlies in the summers of 2023 and 2025, facing Marseille, Alavés and Aston Villa. His most recent outing came in August in the Trofeu Taronja against Torino, a 3-0 win at Mestalla, when he played the last 13 minutes in place of Luis Rioja.

On arrival he said he was very happy to join IK Start, called the project exciting and said he wants to be part of it. He described Start as a big club with an important history and said playing in the Eliteserien will be incredible. He characterised himself as quick and strong in one v one situations.

Before signing for Valencia in 2021, he spent most of his early career in the Trøndelag regional set-up. He trained with his new team for the first time on Tuesday. Since 2023 he has made 24 appearances for Valencia CF Mestalla in the Segunda Federación and has represented Norway at under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-19 levels.
