Large sections of the home fanbase in attendance at tonight’s meeting between Valencia and Barcelona made use of the opportunity to make clear their appreciation for a member of the latter’s midfield.
The player in question? Pedri.
Spanish international Pedri was afforded his latest starting berth on Thursday, as Barcelona made the trip to Mestalla for a Copa del Rey quarter-final clash.
And, amid a rout to date for the Blaugrana, the 22-year-old has dazzled once more.
The highlight of Pedri’s showing came with 22 minutes on the clock, when the midfield maestro split Valencia’s backline wide open to send Fermín López through to make it 3-0.
So standout has Pedri been, in fact, that he has even managed to generate vocal appreciation by way of the home fans at Mestalla.
Late in the first-half, chants of ‘Pedri, Pedri, Pedri’ were heard spreading loudly throughout the stands.
