Valencia are reportedly interested in securing a loan deal for Spanish defender Mario Hermoso, according to Foot Mercato.
The 30-year-old joined Roma on a free transfer after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired last summer, but he struggled to make an impact.
He featured in just 13 matches before moving to Bayer Leverkusen in January, where he has been providing cover at left-back and centre-back.
Despite the departure of Jonathan Tah, Leverkusen are unlikely to pursue a permanent move for Hermoso, having already agreed a deal for Jarell Quansah.
Hermoso, whose contract runs until 2027, is reportedly unwilling to return to Rome.
His versatility and experience in top European leagues make him an attractive option for Valencia.
Negotiations are underway between Valencia and Roma regarding a possible loan move for Hermoso with an option to buy.
That would allow Valencia to bolster their defensive ranks without a long-term financial commitment, a strategy that suits their current budget constraints.
However, Roma are holding out for a loan with an obligation to buy, so it is unclear if Valencia will be open to meeting those terms.
The La Liga club are set to part ways with Cristhian Mosquera, and their pursuit of Hermoso is expected to accelerate in the coming weeks.
