Ernesto Valverde travelled to support Iñaki Williams at the World Cup, watching Ghana beat Panama 1-0 in Toronto. The former Athletic coach was in the stands as the Black Stars opened Group L with a late winner.

Ghana share Group L with England and Croatia. His presence was revealed by image consultant Álex Brice in an Instagram post.

Carlos Queiroz chose not to use Iñaki Williams, so the Athletic captain will have to wait for his first minutes at this World Cup.

Brice reflected that the day showed how hard work can be rewarded and thanked Iñaki for the chance to support Ghana. He said being a barber can link cultures and take you to places that once felt out of reach.

Brice has styled footballers including the Williams and Lamine Yamal, showcasing his work on social media. His friendship with the Athletic captain led to an invitation to the tournament.
