Liverpool suffered from unnecessary pressure against West Ham at Anfield and came very close to missing the opportunity to open up a bigger lead at the top. However, the Reds showed that they will pick up wins when they put more intensity into their performance in the final stretch of the season and left the field with a 2-1 victory.
Arne Slot's team once again took the initiative and pressed their opponents hard from the first minutes. A lot of space was created in the final third of the pitch, especially on the right side when Mohammed Salah went down, punishing the opposition defense.
t took just 18 minutes for Liverpool to open the scoring. The Egyptian took off at speed after breaking clear of his marker and lifted his head to provide a sensational assist, finding Luis Díaz completely free in the area, who only had to push the ball into the net.

From the end of the first half, Liverpool came under greater pressure from a West Ham side that looked to attack more and put pressure on the Reds' defense. Throughout the second half, the visitors had more shots on target and a greater attacking presence, a stance that was rewarded in the 86th minute when Kudus tried to head the ball into the box and Robertson ended up getting in the way of Virgil Van Dijk, scoring a bizarre own goal at Anfield.
But Arne Slot's side immediately reacted with great intensity and the support of their fans to try and secure victory again. Faced with the need for urgency, Van Dijk burst into the box from a corner on the right and curled the ball into the corner of the net, securing the win just three minutes after West Ham's equalizer.
With 13 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal, Liverpool's confirmation of the title really has become a matter of time, with the Reds able to win the Premier League in front of their home fans in a derby against Tottenham. The question now is when the Reds will lift the trophy.
