Cremonese announced Jamie Vardy as a new signing on deadline day, with the legendary English striker posing next to a violin for two reasons.

Vardy was one of the most exciting transfer announcements in Serie A on Monday when the ex-Leicester City star signed a one-year deal with an option for a further campaign.

Why Vaardy posed next to a violin for Cremonese unveiling

Vardy posed next to a violin for his transfer announcement because Cremona is known as the City of Violins, for their history or artisan instruments. It was also an excuse to make a pun about StradiVardy rather than the iconic Stradivarius violins.

Vardy scored 200 goals in 500 Leicester City appearances, where he won a Premier League title in 2025-26 under Claudio Ranieri.

Cremonese have already had a strong start to the season under new coach Davide Nicola with back-to-back victories against Milan and Sassuolo.
