Flamengo right-back Guillermo Varela has been left out of Tuesday’s Brasileirão trip to Vitória with right ankle pain. The club said in a statement that he was not selected for the third-round fixture.

He also missed Saturday’s Carioca meeting with Sampaio Corrêa due to load management, training at CT Ninho do Urubu.

Flamengo have three further absences: Saúl is recovering following surgery on his left heel, Jorginho continues treatment on a left thigh muscle injury, and Luiz Araújo is undergoing physical reconditioning after medical clearance.

Filipe Luís does have reinforcements, with Rosssi, Léo Ortiz, Alex Sandro, De La Cruz and Arrascaeta available after sitting out the Sampaio Corrêa game for load management.

Flamengo are seeking their first win of the 2026 league season, having lost 2-1 to São Paulo then drawn 1-1 with Internacional. They sit 13th.

Kick-off is at 21:30 Brasília time at Barradão in Salvador.
