Vasco name Johan Rojas as new No 10 after Coutinho exit | OneFootball

Vasco have handed the No 10 shirt to Johan Rojas, who will wear it against Palmeiras on Thursday in the Brasileirão. The number has been vacant since 18 February, when Coutinho requested an early contract termination.

According to Globo.com, the Colombian has filled in for the former captain in recent matches and has been one of Vasco’s standout performers at the start of the season, with 11 appearances and two assists.

The 23-year-old joined on loan initially as cover for Coutinho and an option from the bench, and he was not recruited to be an automatic starter.

He has been highly rated in early 2026 at CT Moacyr Barbosa, showing personality, quick adaptation to Brazilian football, strong movement and clean strikes from range. He has also taken charge of set plays, including free-kicks and corners.

Rojas had been wearing number 29. He will debut the No 10 on Thursday against Palmeiras, which will also mark Renato Gaúcho’s first match in charge, with kick-off at 19:30 Brasília time at São Januário.
