Vasco has filed an interlocutory appeal to suspend the judicial intervention in its SAF, arguing it has hurt transfer plans and scuppered Gabriel Pec’s return.
According to Globo.com, the 25-year-old arrived from LA Galaxy on Sunday to finalise a move to Cruzeiro, and is set to be announced shortly.
The club says the measure paralysed governance, leaving no one able to authorise decisions, and that this void frustrated Pec’s repatriation. It also notes reports on 2 July 2026 that he had agreed terms with Cruzeiro.
Vasco retained 30% when selling him to LA Galaxy in 2024. Cruzeiro will pay about 12 million dollars, roughly R$ 63 million, giving Vasco around R$ 18.9 million plus four and a half per cent via the solidarity mechanism. In total, about R$ 21.7 million could ease short-term cash flow.
Vasco seeks to overturn a 22 June ruling by the 4th Business Court that removed Pedrinho and two other SAF board members and imposed the intervention.
The court will now consider a suspensive effect that could keep or temporarily lift the measure. After that, 777 Carioca will be summoned to respond before a panel rules on the merits, while the main case proceeds under a new judge after a declaration of suspicion concerning the original judge.
