Vasco have begun budgeting to secure four of their five loanees on permanent deals, while planning an exit for a midfielder.
ge reports that the coaching staff will not seek to extend Matheus França’s stay from Crystal Palace. He arrived in Brazilian football last August, struggled to adapt, and is expected to leave on 30 June without the buy option being triggered.
The club have already acted this year, completing the €4.5m purchase of Andrés Gómez from Rennes in January to take 60% of his rights.
Keeping left-back Cuiabano would cost €10m to Nottingham Forest, a fee that would keep him until December 2030. For centre-back Robert Renan, on loan from Zenit until mid-year, the board are seeking to extend the loan to the end of 2026 before paying the €8m required for a final purchase.
Centre-back Carlos Cuesta had his loan from Galatasaray extended after a €1.5m payment. He has lost his place to Alan Saldivia due to right knee pain and has yet to play for Renato Gaúcho, but remains well regarded, with Colombia call-ups and a €5.75m clause.
Playmaker Johan Rojas has impressed since joining from Monterrey, adapting quickly and taking the number 10 shirt after Coutinho’s departure. The club are preparing to meet his US$3.5m option to keep him.
These commitments have prompted a deeper budget review to retain key pieces without harming the books, aiming to leave the coach with a stronger, permanently assembled squad.
