Vasco da Gama have moved youngsters André Ricardo and Lucas Eduardo out of first-team sessions, with both not in Renato Gaúcho’s plans. The club are evaluating new loan moves after the window closed.

According to PaponaColina, the duo continue to train at Centro de Treinamento Moacyr Barbosa in alternative time slots while their futures are discussed with representatives. The hierarchy are weighing options to protect asset value as focus stays on the senior squad.

Highly rated in the academy, André Ricardo renewed his deal in October 2024 with a 60 million euro clause, about R$ 366 million. Now 20, he was loaned to Fortaleza in 2025, played mainly for the under-20s with 23 games and six goals, and is contracted to Vasco until the end of 2026 with an option for three more seasons.

Midfielder Lucas Eduardo, 21, faces a similar scenario. He had short spells at Cuiabá and Avaí last season and logged only seven official matches. His deal runs to January 2027 and he has passed the under-20 age limit while seeking a new club.

Vasco aim to streamline the wage bill of sidelined players amid a packed schedule. After the current FIFA window, Renato Gaúcho’s side face at least 16 key fixtures across two months from April. Their next match is on one April against Coritiba at Couto Pereira in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
