With Dovbyk injured and Ferguson unimpressive in the first half of the season, Roma is searching for a center forward.

Zirkzee remains on Massara’s list. In addition to a striker, the Giallorossi are also looking for a winger. Roma had focused on Sancho in the summer, but were unable to close the deal.

The Englishman’s failure to arrive forced Roma to block the sale of Baldanzi to Verona.

In recent months, Gasperini has tried to give the former Empoli player some playing time, having played as a center forward against Udinese after Dovbyk’s departure.

However, the young attacking midfielder has never managed to make an impact, which is why he is likely to be sold in January, partly to finance the arrival of other players.

Against Cremonese, Baldanzi could start alongside Soulé and Pellegrini, but Roma are working on his transfer. Indeed, Verona have been making renewed interest in the player in recent days. Verona are battling relegation, and Baldanzi would be the ideal addition to a team struggling to score goals.

As reported by Nicolò Schira, a meeting between the player’s agents and the Gialloblu club took place in recent days, a meeting that apparently went well. The deal is a loan with an option to buy. Meanwhile, Roma are also mulling over a possible early departure for Ferguson.

The Giallorossi are reportedly considering terminating the Irishman’s loan in January to focus entirely on Zirkzee.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the odds of the Tuscan midfielder’s possible transfer to Verona are also rising.
