The crisis at OGC Nice has reached breaking point. Bottom of their Europa League group and suffering four straight defeats in Ligue 1, the club from the Côte d’Azur is enduring an extremely tough spell.

On Sunday, things escalated further. After a 1-3 defeat to Lorient, coming hot on the heels of a heavy 0-3 loss against Porto, several Nice supporters physically attacked two players: Jérémie Boga and Terem Moffi. Sporting director Florian Maurice was reportedly also targeted, according to L’Équipe.

According to RMC Sport, Boga and Moffi, who had already been subjected to racist insults, were so shocked that they no longer want to wear the Nice shirt. Both players have reportedly been signed off sick following the assault.
