Italy international Riccardo Calafiori grabbed himself a goal and an assist as Arsenal recorded an emphatic 7-1 victory away against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday night.
Mikel Arteta’s side were in seventh heaven in the Netherlands on Tuesday night, and have practically already booked a place in the Champions League quarter-final with a 7-1 victory in their round of 16 first leg against PSV. The teams will meet again at The Emirates next Tuesday.
No team has ever overturned a deficit greater than four goals between two legs of a Champions League knock-out tie. Barcelona are the only team to hold that record with their 6-5 aggregate victory over PSG in the 2016-17 round of 16.

Calafiori was involved in two of Arsenal’s four second-half goals in Eindhoven. He claimed an assist for Leandro Trossard three minutes into the second half, which was already Arsenal’s second goal after the interval.

The Italy international then claimed a goal for himself five minutes before the 90th. Arteta had brought on left-backs Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney by that point, which meant that Calafiori was playing in midfield at the time of his goal.
He made a run through the middle of the pitch, latching onto a neat through-ball from Trossard before slotting past Walter Benitez with his weaker right foot from the right-hand side of the penalty area.
