The Scotland international came through the ranks at United and became a regular in the first team after being given his debut under former manager Jose Mourinho.

McTominay was later utilised by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Erik ten Hag.

Now, in Italy, he is playing under the guidance of Antonio Conte at Napoli.

McTominay scores first goal for Napoli vs Palermo

The 27-year-old entered the match against Palermo as a late second-half substitute and it didn’t take him long to get on the scoresheet after linking up with former United striker Romelu Lukaku.

McTominay’s tidy finish made it 5-0 and it was his first goal after three appearances under Conte.

As a player with an eye for goal, it won’t surprise any United fan to see McTominay get off the mark quickly in Italy.
