Liverpool thought they had taken the lead against Inter Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday night, only for VAR to intervene & dramatically rule out the opening goal after lengthy four minute review.

The incident occurred in the 32 minute of the first half when centre back Ibrahima Konate rose highest to power home header from corner.

The French defender timed his run perfectly and placed his effort beyond the goalkeeper sparking celebrations among Liverpool players... only for play to halt moments later.

Concerns immediately surfaced over possible foul by teammate Hugo Ekitike in the build up prompting officials to consult the VAR hub.

The match referee was eventually summoned to the monitor for closer inspection before ultimately deciding to disallow the goal and restore the scoreline to 0-0.
