It was a frustrating night for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tonight.
The Blues had a two goal lead which they let slip in a game they should have cruised to a win in.
Their first goal was lovely. We’ve been saying that the Cole Palmer – Joao Pedro chemistry is finally coming, and this was more evidence of it. Palmer released JP with a clever slipped through ball, and the Brazilian lifted it neatly over the goalkeeper.

Cole Palmer belts in a penalty for the Blues.
The second Chelsea goal was another superbly taken penalty by Cole Palmer, after Joao Pedro was brought down once again.
This team was built to be have Palmer assisting JP, but in fact the striker’s ability to wins penalties means that he’s able to repay the favour on a regular basis, like here.
What a shame this second goal didn’t wrap the game up as it should have. Silly mistakes and some really casual play late on – plus a shocking miss from Cole Palmer – cost the team brutally in the end.

There’s been a lot of mockery and memes about Liam Rosenior since he took the Chelsea job – but they’re gradually fading away as the wins rack up. Another 3 points tonight will shut up another section of the doubters.
Cole Palmer returned from his groin injury in the first edition of this game, but it wasn’t enough to save Chelsea form a defeat. Both the attacker and the Blues had a tough period following that defeat. Perhaps tonight can see a reversal of all that?
