Viktor Gyokeres transfer ‘agreement’ reached amid Premier League interest

Four Premier League clubs have been told how much it will cost them to buy Viktor Gyokeres after Sporting Club set his transfer fee.

The Sweden international has attracted a lot of interest due to his incredible form since joining the Portuguese outfit, scoring 57 goals in 64 appearances in all competitions.

The 26-year-old, who last year left Coventry City in a deal worth up to £21 million, has a €100m (£85m) release clause in his contract.

However, it now seems that Sporting are willing to sell their star striker for a fair bit less than that amount next year.

The Lions have reached a ‘transfer agreement’ with Gyokeres that will allow the player to leave the club in 2025 for a fee between €60-70m, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Germany reporter claims that a move next summer is ‘very likely’, while there is no plans to sell the former Brighton man in the January transfer window.

Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been ‘informed’ of the agreement. Manchester United and Spurs have also been linked with the attacker.

In September Gyokeres said he was happy to stay in Lisbon until the end of this season. “Yes, the release clause into my contract is high but I’m happy at Sporting,” he said.

“I had no problems when I had to stay here for one more season. My value is there and that’s it now, we will see when something happens.”
