Villa and Manchester United interest in Waldemar Anton headlines a busy Midlands window, with Tottenham said to be eyeing Rodrigo Gomes and Albion awaiting Josh Maja’s decision on a new deal.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Villa and United have enquired about the Borussia Dortmund centre back. Dortmund want to keep him and offer a new deal, and his contract runs until 2028.

Tottenham are said to be looking at Rodrigo Gomes after a season of five goals in 27 games despite two months out injured. Rob Edwards has already said he wants to keep the winger next season.

Albion have tabled two new contracts and wait on striker Josh Maja amid links to Rangers and Celtic. James Morrison is a strong admirer and is believed to want him to stay.

Wolves want Fer Lopez back for pre-season after his loan at Celta Vigo, and he is expected to be in the squad. Celta are still pushing for a return and the situation could drag into summer.

Wolves are also said to be in talks with out of contract Kieran Trippier after his Newcastle exit, hoping to persuade the England full back despite Premier League and Saudi interest.
