Aston Villa have completed the signing of 17-year-old Brian Madjo from French side FC Metz.
According to reports, Aston Villa paid a €12 million fee for the deal with the teenager signing a five-and-a-half-year contract with the club.
Madjo broke into the Metz first team earlier this season, starting the club’s opening two league matches. However, he has not started since and has made just three substitute appearances, the most recent coming in a 3-1 defeat to AJ Auxerre on 7 December.
Despite his age, Madjo has already been capped three times at senior international level by Luxembourg, while also representing England at Under-17 level.
Born in Enfield, North London, in January 2009, Madjo moved to Luxembourg at a young age. Born to Cameroonian parents, the teenager is viewed by Aston Villa as a long-term investment rather than someone expected to make an immediate impact under Unai Emery.
His father, Guy Madjo, previously played for several English clubs, including Bristol City, Shrewsbury Town and Plymouth Argyle.
